In the series premiere of S.W.A.T., which airs on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 10/9c on CBS and CBS All Access, we see what it takes to save the public, save each other, and save the day.

For Hondo, it's not as simple as just enforcing the law. He serves in Los Angeles where he grew up, and has deep roots in a community that doesn't always trust the police. His loyalty will be stretched on two fronts, as he's just been tasked with running an elite and close-knit S.W.A.T. team—which can feel as much like a family as a tactical unit.

The conflict between Hondo's two worlds complicates the split second decisions that can mean the difference between life and death. As he's learned, "Sometimes following the rules and doing what's right isn't the same thing."
